Summary EditRosie is Howard's dog of whom was later killed by Der Klown. She is an English Bulldog with dark brown eyes, a muscular, hefty build with a wrinkled face and a distinctive pushed-in nose. Rosie is a medium-sized breed of dog. As Rosie is a female, she weighs between 49-51 lbs and stands at 12-13 inches high.
Rosie's eyes are dark in colour and deep set, and she has small thin ears that are set high on her head. Her black nose is broad with large nostrils. Her body and head are massive, with extra skin on her skull and skin folds and wrinkles on her face as well as an underbite.
Near the end of the movie during the family's realisation of their snowglobe state, Rosie is shown wearing a red and green elf outfit created from a felt-like material, decorated with small brass bells on each point of the red felt collar around her neck.
She was able to approach and devour the last gingerbread man (or Lumpy), of whom was about to attack and kill Howard. This act of loyalty highlighted their relationship and in turn, the family entrusted too much confidence in her and sent her to attack Der Klown.
An unseen fight in the background began as Rosie and Der Klown began battling. It is later concluded that Rosie was unsuccessful in her fight with Der Klown, and had died due to the injuries she sustained.
Rosie is played by a dog named Thor, who is male and therefore does not fit the realistic weight or height of a typical female bulldog in the movie.
Near the end of the movie, Howard mentions that Rosie likes to bark at night. This may allude to the possibility of separation anxiety. This may also be simply because dogs become bored easily when they have nothing to do.
